Through the years we have always enjoyed the greatness that Lenox had to offer in products and have several of them which we have purchased. It is interesting that this piece is not up to their true standards of excellence. The box was true in stating the batteries were not included! However, on the box they put information which calls for AAA batteries and not AA size which is what it takes. The website says that batteries are included and that should be changed to correctly state what you get.The box states there is a light which will go on with the switch. There is no light! The switch for music and turning the carousel is faulty. It has three (3) positions. Left is for music selection #1, middle is for OFF and the other position for music selection #2. As it works out, OFF is the right position, and the other two are music selections.Shame that it is not a clockwork mechanism and you have to manually turn the dial to the countdown to the 25th. The information on the site is saying you start at the 25th and back up to the 1st. Reality check...start at 1 and move to 2 and so forth until the 25th where the music is set to say Merry Christmas.With all these flaws...well it is very nicely decorated, is a fitting centerpiece and really adds to the festive holiday season. We shall really cherish this Lenox Countdown to Christmas Centerpiece which is quality in and of itself. The small flaws do not diminish the beauty and thought that went into this!
